Botril is the southernmost country on the Briejan peninsula. It was once a colony of Alabasta, but has since gained its independence. Botril was an important colony to Alabasta, as the fertile soils were a great environment for growing grain as well as sustaining large plantations of cotton. These agricultural productions lead to mass deforestation in the country; Replenishing the forests is still a prominent issue in Botril today.

Botril is somewhat less rugged and dry as compared to the other cities on the Briejan peninsula. It is covered in lush tropical forests that hosts a variety of wildlife.
